What does HACCP mean?

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point. It is a product certification that seeks to identify and eliminate hazards in the food supply chain, reducing the risk of contamination. Dyson hand dryers' sanitary features, including the HEPA filtration system, have earned Dyson this prestigious certification.








Frequently Asked Questions

Is there more than one version of the 9kJ?

Yes. There is a standard voltage model, HU03-LV, which uses 110-120V electrical input, and there is a "high voltage" model, HU03-HV, which uses 208-240V. Note that input voltage level does not affect the drying performance of the hand dryer. Each model performs the same way and each model has the same high (MAX) and low (ECO) power modes.


How do the two power modes operate?

The power mode can be set at installation of the product to either Max or Eco mode. Max mode operates at 900W and delivers a 10-second dry time,¹ perfect for high footfall environments. Eco mode, operating at 650W, delivers a 12-second dry time¹ but uses only 9.1kJ of energy per dry and is better suited for locations such as offices. The power mode can be altered following install but would need removal from the wall to do so as the switch is not accessible externally.


How often should I clean this machine?

To ensure the machine performs to its best and remains hygienic, the Dyson Airblade 9kJ hand dryer should be cleaned daily. Please refer to the cleaning guide for further information.


Do I need a backplate for this machine?

Backplates are recommended for use on plasterboard and cavity walls. They can also be used when replacing other Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers.


How often should I change the HEPA filter?

The lifecycle of the HEPA filter will depend on the air quality in your facility. Generally speaking, we recommend every 2-3 years in a normal office environment. If your environment is dusty or has lots of particulates in the air (for instance, the kitchen of a bakery where lots of flour is used), it can be 6-12 months. And, of course, any time you notice reduced airflow, it's a good time to examine the filter and replace if necessary.
